Another ramble from HonsayYou know the word "Let's"? I'm sure you do. In the English language, this particular word is a spliced version of "let us". I'm not here to teach english, but just bear with me.
When you and your friends go to the movies, you say "Let's go to the movies!". You wouldn't say "Let us go to the movies!" you'd look like an idiot and they'd make a redneck joke.
Conversely, if you and a friend were captured by terrorists and wanted to be released (like any other, sane human.), you would say "Let us go Mr. Terrorist!". You wouldn't say "Let's go Mr. Terrorist!", it would make no sense.
I want some input on this particular quandary of mine. Leave thine comment below and tell me what you think.
